Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Riva, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use Riva.

Riva is an AI-powered email scheduling assistant. The service:

• Monitors a connected "assistant" Gmail account for scheduling requests
• Analyzes email conversations to understand scheduling needs
• Checks calendar availability
• Proposes meeting times to participants
• Sends confirmation requests via SMS or Telegram
• Creates calendar events once confirmed

To use Riva, you must:

• Have a valid Google account for identity verification
• Connect a separate Google account as your assistant (with Gmail and Calendar access)
• Provide accurate contact information (phone number or Telegram) for confirmations
• Keep your account credentials secure

You are responsible for all activity under your account.

Subscription Plans

Riva offers subscription plans with different features and limits. Plan details and pricing are available on our website.

Billing

• Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis
• Payment is processed through Stripe
• By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis

Auto-Renewal

Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account settings.

Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period
• You retain access to paid features until the end of your paid period
• No refunds are provided for partial billing periods

Price Changes

We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days notice. Price changes take effect at your next billing cycle after the notice period.

Free Trials

If we offer a free trial, you may be required to provide payment information. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin and you will be charged.

You agree NOT to:

• Use Riva for spam, unsolicited bulk email, or harassment
• Send messages that violate others' privacy or rights
• Attempt to access other users' data or accounts
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Use the service for any illegal purpose
• Circumvent any usage limits or access controls
• Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
• Use Riva to schedule meetings for purposes that violate laws or regulations

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

By providing your phone number and selecting SMS notifications, you expressly consent to receive text messages from Riva related to your scheduling requests. This includes:

• Meeting time proposals
• Confirmation requests
• Scheduling updates and reminders

Message Frequency: Varies based on your scheduling activity. Expect 2-10 messages per scheduling request.

Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates from your carrier may apply.

Opt-Out: Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from SMS notifications. You can also change your notification preference to Telegram in your account settings.

These are transactional messages related to services you requested, not marketing messages.

Our Rights

Riva and its underlying technology, including software, algorithms, designs, and documentation, are owned by us or our licensors. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the service.

Your Content

You retain ownership of your content (emails, calendar data, etc.). By using Riva, you grant us a limited license to process your content as necessary to provide the service.

Riva integrates with third-party services including:

• Google (Gmail, Calendar, OAuth, Contacts)
• Anthropic (AI processing)
• Twilio (SMS delivery)
• Telegram (messaging)
• Stripe (payment processing)

Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party services.

We do not guarantee that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• All scheduling requests will be processed correctly
• The AI will always understand scheduling intent accurately
• Meetings will be scheduled as intended

• Our total liability for any claims arising from your use of Riva is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• We are not liable for missed meetings, scheduling errors, or any damages resulting from AI mistakes

Some jurisdictions do not allow limitation of liability, so these limitations may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from:

• Your use of the service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Content you submit through the service

By You

You may stop using Riva and delete your account at any time from your account settings.

By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activity
• Fail to pay for subscription services
• For any reason with 30 days notice

Effect of Termination

Upon termination:

• Your access to the service ends
• Your subscription (if any) is cancelled
• You may request deletion of your data

We may modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of Riva after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms are governed by the laws of California, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of Riva will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco, California. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.

• Entire Agreement: These Terms and our Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Riva
• Severability: If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect
• Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right does not waive that right
• Assignment: You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor
